Ocean Crawfish Seafood & Grill

My friends and I tried the ocean signature, kumquat lemongrass and house special crawfish flavors. All of them were good. Our favorite was the House Special which had orange juice in it. The kumquat lemongrass had a unique flavor but it tasted a bit synthetic (as if they used natural flavoring). We ordered all of them “spicy” the first round and it was not spicy at all. The flavors were there but there was no kick. So the second time we ordered we got “extra spicy.” This time there was a nice kick but all the flavors tasted really bitter and unpleasant. I recommend sticking with “spicy” so at least your crawfish tastes good. The oysters were great! I recommend the sample platter with all of the flavors. At around 8:15 P.M., the restaurant started playing really loud music and it was difficult for my friends and I to have a conversation. The restaurant was very busy for a Thursday night. Wait time for a table was around 5 minutes.

The seafood salad was refreshing with herbs bringing a unique flavor that stood out positively. We tried the oyster, geoduck and scallop, but the herbs and seasoning were overpowering, masking the natural seafood tastes. Razor clam was overcooked. The crawfish didn’t really stand out either—nothing memorable there.

I visited Ocean Crawfish on Beechnut twice within two days in January because I really wanted to give them a fair try. The crawfish were definitely live and fresh, which I appreciated. You can tell they take pride in having good quality seafood. The first time, I ordered the Medium Spice Ocean Signature. When I received my order, I noticed the receipt said mild, so I let them know it was supposed to be medium. A lady kindly took them to the back and said she was adding more spice. However, when I started eating them, they still didn’t taste medium spiced. The second visit, I asked for spicy, thinking maybe I just needed to go up a level. Unfortunately, they still weren’t spicy at all—honestly not even medium. The flavor was there, but the heat level just didn’t match what I requested either time. Overall, the crawfish were fresh, which is a big plus. I may just need to speak with someone directly next time to make sure my spice level is right because I really want that true medium or spicy kick.

Food was on point! The crawfish was seasoned just right. We got the spicy level and it was definitely bringing fire to my lips and tears in my eyes! We also ordered their grilled oyster platter, so delicious! Their fried oysters and shrimp were very good, you get to pick fried rice or French fries for a side. We chose one of each and they weren't that bad! Let's talk about the atmosphere because the music was so loud I couldn't hear my friend talk! Y'all need to turn down the music especially at noon! It felt like a club! Besides that I will be back for the food!

Just tried Ocean Crawfish Seafood & Grill and man… this spot is straight up Flavortown in the hood I went all in:– 2 lbs of garlic butter crawfish (juicy, messy in the best way, packed with flavor)– Fried squid (crispy and not rubbery )– Coconut snail (lowkey surprised me, sweet + savory combo hits)– Mussels with onions (super fresh, soaked up all that sauce)– Surf clams with onions (tender and flavorful, no chewiness) Forgot to mention got some raw oysters, I didn’t put the extra ish they gave me just put lemon and salt and pepper, always hits for me eating raw oysters. Everything came out hot, seasoned right, and you can tell they don’t hold back on the sauce. It’s one of those spots where you gotta get your hands dirty and don’t care how you look eating If you’re craving seafood with real flavor and not that watered-down stuff, this place delivers. Definitely coming back.
